After studying management, he shifted to history and completed his PhD from the Australian National University in Canberra. He is renowned for his scholarship on working class history and historiography, and was one of the pillars of the subaltern studies collective. He is now a leading author on climate change and ecology as well. His journey in life has traversed many corridors of knowledge and accumulated a sensibility on par with the most enlightened minds in the world.
